Razloge
Just 10 kilometers from the Crni Lug hostel, there is an even smaller village – Razloge , another attraction in the Risnjak National Park. Razloge are located above the source of the Kupa, and from the village there is a view of the entire valley of the upper Kupa with its villages, the hills and small church of St. Up and Hriba , a deeply cut penetration of Sušica , and on the vertical rocks of Borovška gora in Slovenia.
Goran House of Knowledge
Before going to the source of the river, familiarize yourself with the history of the village in the “Goranska kuća znanja” visitor center, which is located in the old village school. Here, the local heritage is actively presented and the importance of its preservation is raised, but it also creates a platform for spreading knowledge about particularly important natural species from the Risnjak NP area, through a permanent exhibition.
Other tracks
If you spend the night in the Crni Lug hostel, even the peak of Veliki Risnjak is not far away. Visitors with a little more hiking fitness often choose the trails from Crni Lug / Bijela Vodica that start at the main entrance to the park. There are two equally long and equally demanding options available.
- Horvat’s trail – leads across Schlosser’s meadow to the top of Veliki Risnjak. The path from the Smrekovac location to the mountain lodge is called Moravčeva staza, named after the princely forester from the Bijela Vodica forest near Crni Lug, on whose initiative it was built for excursion purposes back in 1899.
- The path over Mark’s lair – another path that also leads from the main entrance to the park. It complements Horvat’s path in the ascent or descent from Risnjak, and follows the route of an old forest road built in the second half of the 19th century. and today it is a monument of forestry and its rich history. The weight and length are the same as the Horvat trail. The time required to overcome the 838 m height difference on both tracks is about 3 hours.
